Crestron QM-MD8x8 QuickMedia Distribution System
QuickMedia Distribution System:
QM-MD8x8
Introduction
Features and Functions
The Crestron
®
QuickMedia Distribution System, QM-MD8x8 (hereinafter referred to
as MD8x8) is part of the Crestron MediaManager™ line of network devices, room
control systems, and signal routing solutions.
Functional Summary
Eight input by eight output matrix switching of composite video,
S-video, RGB, and audio signals
Switching scheme allows one QuickMedia (also known as QM) input
to be switched to one, multiple, or all available QM outputs
Separate switching of audio and video portions of QM input signals
Eight QuickMedia inputs (RJ-45) for connection to QM wall plates
and/or QM table top media centers
Eight QM outputs (RJ-45) for connection to QM receivers
Cresnet connector for each QM port simplifies the use of QM cables
Dedicated power connections allow for sufficient power distribution
among connected components
Switching operations can be performed through a Crestron control
system or the QM-MD8x8’s front panel
Custom-labeled front panel buttons provide local control of switching
functions
Expandable switching capabilities by cascading with other MD8x8s
Touch-settable ID (TSID) ready
The MD8x8 is a QuickMedia™ (also known as QM) signal routing device used for
the switching and routing of multiple QM signals within a QM system. The audio
and video portion of each QM input signal can be separately switched to as many as
eight QM output ports. The presence of an MD8x8 in a system does not improve or
degrade QM signal quality, nor does it increase or decrease the length of QM cable
that can be used. Additional MD8x8s can be cascaded to provide additional
switching capacity.
